TERROIR

A cool continental climate with cold winters and sunny, gentle springs. Warm, sun-filled summers, with refreshingly cool nights shaped by winds flowing through the surrounding hills and valleys. The vineyard is located in the village of Devina near Ritoznoj (Slovenska Bistrica). Soils are predominantly marl, with some areas of marl mixed with clay.

VINIFICATION

Pinot Noir Devina originates from an exceptional, steep single vineyard where hand-harvested grapes reach optimal ripeness. The wine is aged for 17 months in French oak barrels (François Frères), revealing refined depth, a silky texture, and the pure elegance of both variety and site. This is a limited single-vineyard bottling that most authentically expresses the character of our terroir.

TASTING NOTES

A medium-deep cherry colour with captivating notes of the noblest grape variety. Cherry, red berries, liquorice, a hint of smoke, and subtle oak ageing nuances. The bouquet balances primary fruit with the emerging depth of Pinot Noir, revealing new layers with every swirl. On the palate, the wine fully meets the high expectations set by the nose. It glides effortlessly between fruit-driven purity and gentle rusticity. Harmony, elegance, and finesse stand out. The structure is defined, with present yet finely integrated tannins. Power and precision coexist in perfect balance, forming a seamless and distinctive whole—reminiscent of Michelangelo’s David: a figure of strength, yet perceived as pure harmony and grace.
