TERROIR

Continental cool climate, with cold winters and sunny, mild springs, with sun-drenching summers. The vineyard is located on a steep slope (30-40˚) of hill Lipoglav with southern-exposure, at an altitude of 300 m above sea level. The soils are predominantly marl with some spots of clay.

VINIFICATION

Selected grapes are from the Žička Gorca vineyard, where the Carthusian monks aready cultivated this variety centuries ago. The rich soil gives the wine complexity and elegance. Grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. Fermentation starts in small fermenters with natural yeasts. Aged for 12 months in French oak barriques. Bottled without filtration.

TASTING NOTES

The wine is presented wity spicy notes of black pepper and cloves, followed by aromas of berries. The wine is medium to full bodied with a silky tannic structure that fills the mouth. The rich soil gives the wine complexity and elegance.
