TERROIR

Continental cool climate, with cold winters and sunny, mild springs, with sun-drenching summers. The vineyard is located on a steep slope (30-40˚) of hill Lipoglav with southern-exposure, at an altitude of 300 m above sea level. The soils are predominantly marl with some spots of clay.

VINIFICATION

Selected grapes are from the Žička Gorca vineyard, where the Carthusian monks aready cultivated this variety centuries ago. The rich soil gives the wine complexity and elegance. Grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. Fermentation starts in small fermenters with natural yeasts. Aged for 12 months in French oak barriques. Bottled without filtration.

TASTING NOTES

Vino se predstavi s pikantnimi notami črnega popra in nageljnovih žbic, zatem sledijo arome jagodičja. Vino je srednje do polnega telesa s svileno taninsko strukturo, ki zapolni usta. Bogata tla dajejo vinu kompleksnost in eleganco.
