TERROIR

Continental cool climate, with cold winters and sunny, mild springs, with sun-drenching summers. The vineyard is located on a steep slope (30-40˚) of hill Lipoglav with southern-exposure, at an altitude of 300 m above sea level. The soils are predominantly marl with some spots of clay.

VINIFICATION

Red barrel is a unique example of cool climate syrah, made only in the most special vintages when nature allows us the conditions to grow perfect grapes. Fermented in small open top fermenters and aged in used french and slavonian oak for 12 months.

TASTING NOTES

This wine is distinctly spicy and savoury, with aromas of cracked black pepper, black currant and violet. There is weight to the palate, where dried herbs and black fruits are sliced by a zesty acidity.
